Late. Dr. T.V. Venkatesan, eminent dermatologist and visionary wanted to start a multi specialty hospital mainly for the care of children. He believed that in a developing nation like India, child care is extremely important for the success of family planning. He started the hospital in 1977 as a humble Karthik Nursing Home with emphasis on specialized health care for medical and surgical problems for children. From 1977 onwards, Karthik Hospital has remained true to our founder's vision, nurturing some of the nation's pioneers and innovators in paediatric medicine and contributing a number of firsts to the field. His son Dr.Kumar Venkatesan, M.S. FICS, FISDS, FASDS, M.ch (Paediatric) is the managing director of Karthik Hospital and has developed the same into a comprehensive state of the art paediatric multi specialty hospital.
